Need boy advice!

Ok, one of my guy friends asked me if it was true that I had a date to prom because he had heard one of our mutal friends say it. I told him yes and he said that he was mad because he was thinking of asking me to prom. Later on he said that he had a lil crush on me during freshmen year of high school. Now my first question is why is he telling he had a lil crush on me now??? Next, I tried to help find him a date for prom and asked him if he had found one yet and he said no and that he wants to go with me. He then said how he wished he would have asked me sooner and is still mad because he really wants to take me and how he does not know but for some reason he does not want to go with anyone else. He even said "please can i go with you". Also, he asked me who was the guy taking me and if he was nice. So my second question is what is your take on this? Thank you so much!

.... umm... i think hes either a bit of a cassanova who has a bet that he can get you to go with him instead

or hes a complete loser with no social skills

sorry... im not taking a really romantic view on this... but why cant he just let you be happy
and why is he only telling you now?

and if hes so insisted... its more than just a "little" crush isnt it?
he would have said sooner

It all depends on what type of person you are. Dating is very casual. One day the guy can be with you and the next he could be with another woman. Would that make you jealous? Maybe you are just the relationship type of person.

hmm... i have gone through something a bit similar to that, the similarity being that i got confessed to after i was unavailable.
i moved to a different country a yeaar ago and now a lot of my guy friends from back home had confessed to me about liking me, an how they are disappointed that they never got a chance to ask me out.
so when it comes to your guy, i think you should be cautious. cause if you think about it, why is he doing this now? and if you know him well enough, maybe you can answer this question...
maybe his crush on you rekindled after finding out you were unavailable? cause i've seen a lot of cases of this happening with other people i know so yeah... best advice is to be cautious. i hope it helps.
