I'm not here to whine or complain about anything,so if your reading this thinking,"They must've broke a nail, cry me a river!" you're mistaken. I'm just seeking some helpful and constructive advice.
My problem is that I got picked on in school a lot and I've never been able to let that go. I never have forgotten all the vicious names bestowed upon me by my self-righteous 'peers'. The teachers ignored my pleas for help with smirks and quotes like, "You're just not thick-skinned enough. Toughen up!"
What hurts worse is that I feel like I was powerless to stop it all because I'm a very non-violent person and conflict is not on my "To Do List". I'm a very shy, quiet, introverted person, and I don't see why I should change because that's my true nature, it's what ultimatelty makes me me .
It's been some years now and I remember all the bullying like it just happened yesterday. It's left me feeling worthless and paranoid,as though everyone's staring at me,laughing behind my back, rejecting me. I don't like being around people anymore for fear of being hurt again.
I guess it's very traumatic to me,and I want to beat them all up for what they've done but I know it's not in me to do that,so again I feel pathetic and powerless against my foes. How can I move on from this, gain strength and rebirth, without feeling regrets and living as though I have unfinished business and always will? Is it possible to shake these demons from my past? |

| okay i had this same exact problem when i was in middle school . Alot of people go through it but you have to just put it all in the past and jsut ignore it all i know its extremely hard to do but thats the only thing you can do . im a shy person too and i got called names and ppl did stuff to me all the time but i just ignored it and it got old and 2 years later i have more freinds and am over the factor so just '' get over it '' its the past and your heading for the future !hahah good luck |

I've heard that before, and believe me I'm trying my hardest to move on, but it's easier said than done. I hope the saying "Time can heal all wounds" is true. Thanks for the advice. |

| Well, you have to move on, just like what Mariah said. You have to move on, but you also have to learn to be assertive. You know, asking for what YOU want. If you can't do that (because it might be hard for you), then the best way is to, well, ignore those types of people; avoid them at all times if you know what's coming is bad. |

The ilusion of strength is often just as affective as actual strength.
You need to feel strong.
From what your saying phisical strength is unlightly, so intellectual?
Work at finding an advanage over the people who picked on you.
And if push comes to shove you can always whack one over the back of the head with a spade. |
