School isn't exactly the best place to look for friends. It is, but if you're in a small school where you have been with the same people for the last four years and maybe even the last 10, then you get sick of them pretty quick. Working and volunteering are the best way to meet people and get friends. Then there is college later on which is also a lot better than high school.
