| Hi! Uhm. I straighten my hair around twice a week. Is this bad? Will it ruin my hair and eventually cause me to become bald? |

| well i'm not sure if you'll go bald...but, i'm pretty sure it is doing damage to your hair.maybe you show try blow drying it with a comb.just don't use the straightener on your hair too much. |

Girls very rarely go bald.
Remember your hair is already dead so if you don't mess with the roots you should be ok. |

Straightening my hair made it turn gray.
That is a lie. I had gray hair before I bought a straightener. If it keeps on pulling on the hair, it might thin the hair but make it go bald? Probably not. |

| Straightening can make your hair more susceptible to breakage, however your the liklihood of you going bald, or have thinning hair as you age is a genetic factor that you can help determine by looking at your mother. If she has thick hair, you will most likely have thick hair too. However, if she has thinning hair or bald spots that occured naturally, your liklihood is high. The gene that determines hair growth and thickness is directly inherited from your mother. |
