Believe in it? Yes? No? Why? Discuss.
I laugh at love at first sight.
I have yet to see any situation where it wasn't lust or plain attraction in a more intense form, which then changed to love through time, thus being mistaken as love.
It's very easy to become absolutely besotted by someone in a relatively short time, but whether that's love at first sight all depends on your definition of love.
Dylan Moran had a comment on this, relating to the difference between men and women when it comes to that sort of situation - he believes that men are actually more romantic than women in some ways:
| Quote: | Men are the people you will hear say, "I've found somebody. She's amazing. If I don't get to be with this person, I'm ******. I can't carry on, no I mean it, she's totally transformed my life. I have a job, I have a flat, it means nothing. I can't stand it, I have to be with her. Because if I don't, I going to end up in some bedsit, I'll be alcoholic, I'll have itchy trousers. I can't- I can't walk the streets any more."
That, is how women feel about shoes. |
Pretty much:-
Men- I loved you before i knew you.
Women- I loved that pair of shoes... before i wore them.
Sort of the same thing.
I love shoes more than any male.

You are so petty.
You should learn to value people, insted of seeing them as objects, irelivent of gender. |

I prefer shoes to men, less heartbreak.
I value the people who deserved to be valued, instead of many dickheads and bitches who deserve to be classed as many things because of how they act towards others.
I respect only those who respect me back. |

So you intend you live your whole life in a shell, because theres a chance you could get hurt?
You just made a sweeping statement that you prefered shoes to half the humans on the planet, and now you say that you only value people that diserve to be valued.
So, you are quite happy to judge 3 billion people as inferior, but complain about "dickheads and bitches".
Perspective?
Respect is earnt. If you only respect people who respect you, you don't diserve respect because you don't understand what it is. |

| I did just write a reasonably long post destroying all of alicemary's arguments, but each one is so unbelievably moronic that I genuinely found it hard to comprehend how seriously flawed, contradicting and morally wrong they were that I got rid of it all in favour of this blunt abusive one. |

Thanks.
Everytime I try to post a intro thread it won't post it up. Is there something really obvious i'm doing wrong, or is there something wrong with that forum? |
