Apparently 3/10 people are against mixed marriages. Does anyone have any opinions on this? Are you for or against? Have you ever dated someone of a different race or are willing to?

Personally, I could care less. People should and can date whoever they want.

3/10 people claim was stolen from someone who quoted Wikipedia. The actual context uses it as 3/10 people don't mind Asian or Hispanic and white mixed relationships but are against white and black marriages.

This could have gone under Relationships, but it's more sort of a debate. Well, it could turn into a debate.

Wait, did I just cast the wrong vote? Ha. I guess I was more shocked at someone who I thought was my friend flipping out that I was dating someone who was a different race.

I don't see what the problem would be with racial mixing. I mean...it's just certain features and the color of one's skin. That type of stuff, and that shouldn't matter at all. I know some races are against mixing, due to them wanting to have offspring of pure blood, but...seriously, I can't imagine myself being restricted to just marrying my race. Besides, I'm slightly mixed myself. I'm spanish, mexican, native american, and german...

The other arguement I've heard people use are that the children of say...one black parent and one white, turn out 'ugly'. That's not always true. There's this girl in my class that is an african/italian/jamaican/polish mix. Talk about a mutt, lol. But she's really pretty and it makes her stand out from the crowd, making her truely unique to go along with her unique personality.

So yeah...I support the whole racial mix thing Smile

Same here. I highly doubt I'll end up with a guy of my main race (Hispanic) cause they tend to be the ones who think I'm a freak. Now that I think about it, my ex-boyfriend is british (scottish) and the guy I'm currently interested in who seems to have an interest in me, is british and his parents were both born in England. Heh, I see a pattern forming.

personally, i dont really have a problem with it, but by me and most of my friends being black (and female) some of them think that if a Black guy and a white girl hook up that he's kinda cocky or big-headed or something. i know some who r, and some who r not, but love has no color so...

and most of my Black/female friends will probably never date a white guy-i don't know why they just wont. that never even really comes up in conversation-like i never hear them say how cute Brad Pitt is, but they like Usher and Daddy Yankee though. they only seem 2 b attracted 2 Blacks/Hispanics (some not even Hispanics) if i even mentioned something like Brad Pitt being cute i know 4 a fact i'd get the ugly eye slash evil stare mixed with get the hell outta our face u freak. they're not racist though - they just limit their dating relationships.

at my school since its so diverse i always c Black guys w/white girls so i'm kinda used 2 it. that's probably why i don't make such a big deal about it as opposed 2 most of my friends b/c we go to diff schools. at mine there's pretty much every race u could think of, but at their school its mostly Blacks/Hispanics. but 1 weird thing i noticed was not a lot of Black girls dated outside their race - even statistic-wise on the news they did a report, and it said that we're more unlikely 2 date outside our race than women of any other race. i would date outside my race, but i wouldn't b 2 quick 2 tell them about it or my parents....

wouldn't wanna take any risks, they're kinda coo-coo........
