Capital punishment... Right or wrong?

Authorities see fit to decide who lives and who dies. One side says well if the prisoner killed someone they deserve to be killed... An eye for an eye... But what if that prisoner has been wrongly convicted? What if they are completely innocent? wouldn't it destroy the prisoner more to watch their families grow old with them having no part of their lives?? & watching their own health slip away...?

there should not be a death penalty imho

there should be LIFE (as in the rest of your life not 25 years)

We don't have to feed animals but many of them are useful either directly working or as a way of chilling out, and old people have worked for most of their lives and diserve a break.

I see your point alx but 1. What if the prisoner your gettin 'the chair' ready for is in truth innocent? And 2. All life is worth being kept... It's not up to us to decide who lives and who dies!

The fact that sain people murder proves that we can pick and chose who dies.

When we chose to go to war in Afganistan with the Americans there was massive public support, we were pissed that someone would attack our ally.
Since then our bombs have killed about three times as many civilians in this one war as troops from all sides in Afganistan and both gulf wars.

This is regretable, however in the long run the amount of lives saved by removing violent extremists from power will dwarf the numbers lost today.

We have a decent court system, innocent people getting convicted is a rare. In this case the number of innocent people killed would be decresed as the murders that have been commited in the last ten years by offenders escaping or being let out early due to overcrouded prisons.

People who kill are a danger to you and your family, do you really want the tax you pay being used to keep them comfortable?

ok, so killing is wrong

so to punish them and show them how wrong it is, we say: ok now you deserve to die

the law should be that murder is wrong no matter what the circumstances
thats not the current law in many places and states in america
a mother doesnt say "no! dont torture that cat! to show you how wrong it is, im going to do it"
