It's funny when you talk about popular and nerdy kids. Because at our school we don't have a defined cliches. I hang out everyone and I mean everyone. I'm not bragging but I believe I am really friendly and most people like me when they meet me. So in my contexts there is no difference between the popular kids and nerds

I don't really put people into categories
but people who are so called 'nerds' tend to be more self concious and people that are 'popular'
tend to let it all hang out, wear more revealing clothes... and are more high matienence
that's just how it is at our school
but there are some really genuine people from both sides
I don't really judge people at all...
I'm pretty much aquaintences with everyone...

It's best to be in the good with everyone. But sometimes it causes conflict for you and your close friends. =\

And not necessarily are the 'nerds' more self-conscious and the 'popular kids' less self-conscious. If anything, it's the other way around, 'cause the 'popular kids' have reputations to uphold.

Those that care are the self-conscious ones. Those that think that they have a social status, and a reputation to uphold.

Knowing everyone at school generally means that I know a lot of people that are classed as the 'popular kids', and yeah, they have a big self-conscious thing going on.

Where as kids that are just, y'know. Simple, normal, nothing-to-worry-about kids don't care that much. We just go about our business.

it sounds cliche but theres a pecking order in ours...
Popular girls(chavs): violent "plastics" that beat the shit out of you for the slightest thing i.e being shoved into them against your will.
Popular lads(again.. chavs): perverted freaks who grab your arse and tits
followers: brawn and no brain, chavs tell em to jump off a cliff they'd do it
geeks(my group): changes from week to week who's work gets ruined(ripped up etc) and whom gets verbal abuse, ones that try to just get by get beat up, badly

I.e: friday i had a scalpel to cut part of my design out at home. They tipped my art folder up ripped up my 2 hour and my armour designs and then held me back while "Schmelle"(Michelle) slashed my arm 3cm deep. I tried to pick my stuff up and get out of there and got beaten, so now i'm "panda eyes", bruised like a dalmation and have a broken left arm. Two year 9 kids on my taxi had to pick everything up for me coz i couldn't get up.

in conclusion, popular kids always win. either by control through fear or just simply coz the opposition, nerd or not, gets beaten so they cannot fight back.

ROFLROFLROFLROFLRORLFORLFORL! WHAT?!

Wow. I'd so totally hand it to'em if I were there. Sounds like fun. =]

There's not necessarily 'beatings' at school, but everyone just sorta slides into their own spot on their own accord. The only time there's a fight is when two people have been mouthing off at each other for a week or so. Last time, someone got stabbed.

If that had happened in my school the nerds would have ripped the chavs new arce holes.
I should know, I was the one who did most of the reprisals.
