i am confused

Okay... so there's this guy. Him and I have known each other since forever, but only started talking about three years ago. He's a total sweetie. He's always nice, funny, etc.

And he has this friend. I didn't know his friend as long as I knew him, but I was really, really into him.

His friend turned out to be a total jerk, and I really got hurt.

After a few months went by, I got closer and closer to my friend. I never thought of him as more than a friend until very recently. We're complete opposites but there is that certain something about him.
I told him I liked him, but then I also told him it wouldn't work out so we should just be friends. Because I thought [notice past tense!] that it wouldn't be worth taking the risk. I never even found out if he liked me or not though...

So recently, I've been getting this vibe from him that makes it pretty obvious he like me as more than a friend (won't stop staring at me, always moves nearer towards me, holds on to my hand longer than needed, etc.). I'm like 80% sure he's into me.
And I'm sort of into him, even though I told him we should just be friends. I have come to the conclusion that I should just take the damn risk and stop being a stupid coward because if I get hurt, I get hurt - I'll just have to deal with it and move on like I did last time.

So for the past few weeks I've been happy and almost positive something is going to happen between us.
Until... his friend comes into the picture again. He starts talking to me like he used to before I started getting into him. I'm completely weirded out by it all and have no idea why he's even talking to me.

But now everytime I think about my friend, I think about his friend. It's like I can't separate the two. And now I'm doubting if I like my friend because of his friend... I don't know.. It's just so confusing!!!

well i still have the same advice....GO FOR IT!!! forget the past, it just ruins the future!! (unless ur learning something...) but seriously, the jerk, forget about him...he hurt u once beofre wut makes u think he wont do it again? common hun. u've like HIM for forever!! i was sooo mad @ u when u told me that u said it wouldnt work out...take a risk, Girl!!! if he's stupid enough to let u go then that just means that there is a smarter guy out there who needs u!! take a risk, dont be like me...ily hon.

I'm not doubting whether I should go for it...
I'm doubting whether I like him or not... or if it's just because of this whole "friend interference"

If you have doubts, I wouldn't go for a serious relationship. Maybe a few dates to try and clear your mind, but not one of those "straight to dating" relationships.

ok then.... well when u think of HIM do u feel all happy and stuff?? and when u think of his friend do u feel like nothing happened? as well as i know u, i think u still like HIM but i think ur just too proud to say it... Smile

the jerk is just another object on ur road to HIM...this is wut i think: the jerk knows that HE likes u..soo...the jerk is trying to get on ur good side to help HIM out u know?? maybe the jerk feels soo bad about treating u like how he did (and he should feel bad) that he just wants to forget about it and become ur friend again...

It's sort of hard to explain... sort of like the thought of his friend is pretty much haunting me right now.. = /

plz dont tell me u like both...well it comes down to this doesnt it...either u like them both, u like one of them, or dont like any of them....maybe u should give it time..dont rush into things...flirt a little here and there... Wink

mkay.. so both my friend and his friend is going to summer school at my my school so I'll have to see them around constantly (well hopefully I'll hide behind soccerchick most of the time lol) which will add to my growing confusion... yay...

Trying to get more than one opinion on this.. Bre is set on me going for it, but I want another perspective other than that. But then... our convo slowly turned to trees and lizards.

But steering everyone back to the subject, I hung out with my friend yesterday.. and idk.. it's like when I'm with him, I just think about me and him. That's all. I don't think about his friend. I don't think about how freaking confused I am. I feel okay. But when I'm not around him.. I start feeling confused again about the whole situation.

Is that normal?
