Drinkers vs. non-drinkers: research findings
* Adolescent drinkers scored worse than non-users on vocabulary, general information, memory, memory retrieval and at least three other tests
* Verbal and nonverbal information recall was most heavily affected, with a 10 percent performance decrease in alcohol users
* Significant neuropsychological deficits exist in early to middle adolescents (ages 15 and 16) with histories of extensive alcohol use
* Adolescent drinkers perform worse in school, are more likely to fall behind and have an increased risk of social problems, depression, suicidal thoughts and violence
* Alcohol affects the sleep cycle, resulting in impaired learning and memory as well as disrupted release of hormones necessary for growth and maturation
* Alcohol use increases risk of stroke among young drinkers

So what you are saying is that we should push the drinking age higher?
I'm all for it! |

no
i guess that laws were enforced more,
like its not hard for an underage teen to get alcohol and clearly when they do some go to town and wind up in a bad state but with parental supervision i see no problem with letting a 13 year old have a glass of wine at dinner or an alco pop at a party. |

If you want to believe the anti-drug movies they show us, alcohol negatively affects the brain and you can see it using some kind of imaging and scanning (I kind of slept through part of the movie)...
Of course, caffeine also negatively affected the brain and that's not illegal to kids under 21. |

Drinking seriously does not taste good! I dont know y anyone would drink alcohol in the first place. If ur trying to get drunk, brace urself becuz beer taste hella disgusting! Though if u drink non-vergin takelas or something else with flavor thats, a different story. I've never got drunk before, so I dont know the effects first-hand but I'm kinda afraid how I'll act when Im drunk. So to any future drinkers, be cautious when drinking, alcohol can destroy ur life!^_^

yeah ive a friend whose like: it damages you and makes you act the fool and youre stupid if you ever drink and it bugs the s*** outa me!
hes never drank in his life and yet feels qualified to tell evryone else its wrong!
no offence to Docta Mike you just say you personaly dont like it and dont know how youd act you dont say its wrong and anyone who does drink is a complete moron!
i do think alcohol helps me enjoy myself and relax or whatever and would only do it with my parents or close friends i trusted and in moderation so i dont see that as a bad thing |

There ARE ways to have fun without alcohol and you can still live a long life.
I just have NO respect for anyone who drinks. |
