I've fiddled with Linux for a bit. And even then, it was difficult to use, 'cause I was used to Windows.

Same. But still, everyone said Vista was bad. The service pack, yeah. But Ultimate is ace.

I hated windows xp...
it felt so old
but I really like windows vista because of all the cool features
it looks really future-ish

A lot of people I know, they judge Vista 'cause they've listened to people speak about how bad it is. And they've read reviews. They've had no first-hand experience for themselves. None. So, yah. Half of the people who judge Windows Vista have NO IDEA what they're speaking about.

Um... actually I use Vista and I dislike it very much.

pros:
- newer look
- more organized

cons:
- requires a lot more CPU, RAM and graphics
- slow file transfer
- takes 5 times longer than XP to load OS
- bugs still exist

i tried downgrading to XP but my harddrive wont install anything older than Vista :/

Amazingly, I've come to find that the only reason it chews up so much RAM is because of the CPU, and the only reason it chews up so much CPU is because of the graphics card you run. Yes, it requires a lot, but if you've got all of that, it runs perfectly. I've noticed nothing wrong with file transfers, and if you're talking about boot timing, it boots fine if you've got what's required.

Everyone's either gonna have to go to Vista or a different OS soon, because Microsoft is switching, and it won't be making much more for XP. + With how much tech they're bringing out these days, you're gonna be able to buy a high-end computer soon, for just over $500, and be able to use it for everyday things. Multimedia, gaming, etc.
