| I agree, besides it is not like any one but the spacific teen has a say in it. If they choose to fool around and get pregnant that this their mistake and I have no sympathy. |

you'd let someone who doesn't understand the consequences of sex then raise a child? is having a little life supposed to make them shape up or become wiser somehow?
let me put it this way: in general, do kids know as much as they think they do about sex? do kids read directions on their birth control? do they know what an IUD is? will they go to a doctor? do they know that spermicide isn't supposed to be put on toast and eaten in the morning? can teens deal with the emotional consequences of having sex? |

| I'd have to say I disagree with teens being mature enough. There are a few that could handle the whole thing responsibly (I would think at least above the age of 16, though). However, I still believe the majority are fairly reckless. |

Depends on the teenagers.
Ultimately, no matter how sure they may be, a teen will never entirely be ready for sex. They can only be as ready as they tell themsleves they can be. |

| it should not be in the debate section because i'm not asking you to debate with others who post in this thread. if you chose to, that's your own business. |

I've had sex, lost it when I was 15. I've been in a long-term relationship with that girl for almost 2 years now and haven't regretted it. In the future when I'm older (maybe if I'm married to another woman) I might look on that occasion and criticise it in my mind one way or another but in the end there's no going back.
I feel as though I'm ready for sex, yes. But I don't feel ready for it with anyone else because there isn't that trust that I've developed with them. I feel as though I'm ready because I'm on the same level as my girlfriend on the idea (Hell, we waited over a year before we did the deed) and that's why I feel secure having sex with her.
But again, whatever my adult self thinks may be the same or different to what it is now. |
