In a time where the government is trying to have a war against terrorism, the Bush administration has ignored civil liberties or asked the American people to give some up. Should anyone be willing to give up some freedom for security?

I don't think so. They'll just have to find another way to wage this war then taking away my freedom.

But if it could stop another 9/11, isn't it a small sacrifice to ask?

I don't think so. Then again, maybe I'd feel differently about it if my life, or a life of someone close to me, had been directly effected.

However, even if we did give up the civil liberties, there is no telling whether or not it would have prevented the Sept. 11th attacks. Plus, when would it stop?

I need to find one of my earlier sigs.

first of all lol "bush" thats funny, right i got that out my system hmm yeah its not right having your freedom taken away im mean if they scrutenize all you do then they might think you up to sumthin look at the man who got wrongly killed cos they thought he was a terroist and besides taking away a terorists passport isnt gonna one if hes got tunnel vision alot of them would giev there lifes for there cause so jail aint gonna stop em they would just sneak on a plane and do it or use a fake passport on a ferry or hold up a bank court orders aint gonna make them back down and having infromation on them chances are before you can prove it there on step ahead and already shot sum one or blown sumthin up.
they dont even take our security serious enough when it come to a 12 ear old hack in to the pentagon(in the news recently ) somethings gotta give you cant wrap us up in cotton forever im totaly agaist them having so much info on me , but what yah gonna do its their choice i mean if it wernt for goverments wed be cavemen still so ill trust them to look after me even if its by giving them my info.

if your refering to their tapping our phones and performing probable searches, then hell yes i'd give up my liberties. if you have nothing to hide then why hide? i would absolutly no problem with the government listening to every word i say and watching everything i do, because we should have nothing to hide, and if it helps them sleep better at night and helps the country be a safer place then... ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country... i'd give my privacy without hesitation

If you give up freedoms, you never get them back easily.
And if our lives change because of the terrorists, if we lose one liberty or freedom then they have won.

The old "I've got nothing to hide so its fine" is a stupid argument.
Eventually, whether its tomorrow or in a thousand years something will go wrong, a leader will decide that he doesn't want to give up power or something along thoughts lines.
And with these systems in place and nukes at the governments disposal we will never be free again, no-one will try to save us because they fear being destroyed and we won’t be capable of freeing ourselves.

Do you want to be a part the generation that doomed mankind to slavery?
